Since I have a spare minute today, I'll go ahead and reminisce on the significance of tomorrow. I can't believe my baby will be 1 tomorrow! Time has flown and he has grown so much over the past year. He's walking, FINALLY mostly sleeping through the night, has a favorite movie (Up), has 2 teeth, still loves to snuggle and brings a smile to my face every single day. I can't imagine a day without my little Cole-man.
Both kids have been sick for about a week now. I hate it when they are sick and not just because of all the whining and crying that goes along with it. It is very tiresome when it drags out as long as it has. It is one of the main things I hate about the weather getting cooler.
Ryker keeps blowing our minds. He will repeat most of the alphabet after me now. Yesterday he was trying to turn on the coffee pot and said "ready, set, go" plain as day. It was probably one of the more clearer things he has ever said and definitely the closest thing to a sentence.
We had Cole's birthday party this past Saturday. Poor guy wasn't feeling well but he did great with his smash cake! This weekend is Christmas and we're headed out to mom and dad's on Saturday. I absolutely love this time of year. Good food, good times with family. I wish we were able to do it more often.

"I Stuck!"
Ryker's new attention getting tactics includes getting himself in various "prediciments" and saying "I'm stuck." This can be anything from lying upside down on the couch with his head on the floor, sitting in his car seat, and lying on the floor with nothing to be stuck on. It is terribly cute!
Cole is taking steps. The most I've seen at a time is 10. He is free-standing very well. Ryker will be in trouble once he starts walking well. Cole is so ready to be able to keep up with Ryker. That day isn't far away!
Last night at church they turnded the lights low so everyone would know to be quiet. Ryker and Cole were up front walking in front of the stage and Ryker beelined over to me, climbed in my lap and kept saying "dark." His vocabulary is exploding! He says words and phrases daily, in context that I've never heard him say before. It has been so much fun!
So the child getting me up at night has been Ryker. For whatever reason, at random times of the night he wakes up, cries and when I go in his room, he is standing in bed holding his pillow and pointing to the living room. He goes and lies down on the couch and instantly goes back to sleep. I've tried sitting in his room with him until he falls asleep in bed but he doesn't want to do that. For whatever reason he is more comfortable on the couch.
That's all for now. My little man is 11 months old today. So hard to believe! Time flies even faster the second time around. I guess I need to start planning his party soon!

Always running behind!
To say I'm behind is an understatement. At least I have been making a running list of the things I want to make sure I write down. I know it isn't even exhaustive but it is better than my memory alone!
A couple of weeks ago Matt took a half day and we took the kids to the Children's Museum. They LOVED it! Ryker's favorite was the telephone station. It had several old school phones including pay phones. They had automated messages so it appeared to him that he was talking to somebody. Boy did he talk back! We have video of that. I didn't expect Cole to have much fun b/c I thought it would all be too old for him. Boy was I wrong! He is determined to be a big boy and he crawled around and had a blast. There was a tunnel set up in the toddler area and he never thought twice about it. He crawled in one way, turned around and came back. Ryker just started doing that not long ago!
Ryker is constantly adding to his vocabulary. His latest is "rock, rock" whenever we put him down for bed. He also says, "be right back" and holds out his palm like I do to him whenever I have to put Cole down or do something else. Kory taught him to hold up his first two fingers and say "peace." It is hilarious!
Cole is not far away from walking. He pulls up on everything and walks along the furniture. I think he would take steps if he wasn't thinking about it so hard. It will be a whole new world for him and he is ready! Ryker better watch out because his running buddy will be just that :)
Ryker has also been showing interest in going potty; especially at church, but he does go so I take him whenever he says he needs to. We celebrate and he loves to flush the potty. The only problem is he only sees me go potty, so he wants to sit spread eagle on the big toilet and wipe with every little dribble that comes out. I try not to discourage him because nothing would make me happier if he is an easy train!
Cole is our human garbage disposal. He crawls around and finds everything, food and nonfood. I am convinced he also has a hollow leg. That boy never seems full! He is also turning his nose up at baby food and only wants the big league stuff. I can't say that I blame him at all. I also finally got him to start drinking consistently but he only wants sweet tea. Can't blame him there!
Mom and dad gave Matt a small step stool for Easter but Ryker has long ago claimed it as his. It folds down flat and pops together. The other day somehow he managed to undo one side of it and I couldn't get it back together. I knew it wasn't broken forever so I told him when daddy got home he would fix it. So he ran to the front door yelling daddy and I couldn't convince him that daddy was coming home late. I called Matt and let Ryker talk to him and he was telling him in his own words that it was broken. He was so upset because he went to bed before Matt got home. To his great surprise, it was fixed all better the next morning. He resumed business as usual.
One night after church we went to Sonic because even though we ate dinner before we left, we were both hungry. I let Ryker out of his car seat because we were planning on staying to eat. Matt placed our order and then Ryker climbed in his lap, leaned out the window and started yelling at the board. He placed many orders. It was hilarious! Matt would tell him to order something specific and he would lean out and say it in his own way. I wish we could have gotten that on video!
A couple of weeks ago we had Ryker's 2 year party. So hard to believe he is 2!! One of the things we got him was his own hymnal and Amber got him a pitch pipe. He opened her gift first and the look on his face was priceless. He knew instantly what it was and wanted it! I had him open the hymnal next and he was in heaven! He grabbed both of them, ran to the couch, sat down, blew the pitch, said "do" and proceeded to lead us all in song. It made my heart sing!
Wow! I think I am finally caught up. Until tomorrow that is :)

Greetings, Teeth and Astros Game
This morning Cole was across the room standing and playing with the musical table. He looked over at me and I started waving at him. He waved back! I wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke so I let him play and then called his name and waved again. He waved back. We did it several times. He would look at his hand as he waved. He's really getting around very well. He loves to follow Ryker around and play where he is playing. Ryker doesn't seem to be too much of a fan. Once Cole gets over there he either pushes him away or goes and plays somewhere else. Poor guy :(
I noticed on Tuesday the 6th that Cole's bottom left incisor is coming in. My baby has a tooth! And it is sharp. So Ryker got his first tooth at 1 and Cole at 8 months.
This Monday we met Jeff and Darleen at the Astros game with Ryker. Mom and Dad watched Cole b/c I wasn't confident that he would make it or like the noise. Ryker LOVED the game! They passed out American flags for 9/11 and he carried and waved his like a proud little American. We had hot dogs and chips but he was so excited he didn't really eat anything. Before the game started they honored all branches of the military and first responders. There were motorcycle cops and mounted policeman that rode in right beside where we sat. Ryker was more fascinated with the horses. He clapped every time he heard the crowd clap. Right before we left, the Astros hit a home run and he got to see the train move. He waved and said bye-bye to it. It has been so much fun to take him places like that because he's finally old enough to have an excited reaction to things.
A couple of weeks ago mom and dad came out here so we could go wedding shopping for mom. She didn't have a dress for the wedding or the rehearsal. It was a long day but a good one. The kids were awesome and mom found everything she needed for the wedding. We started at Memorial City Mall and we let Ryker play in their awesome play area. It is the largest I have ever seen in a mall. He wasn't scared like he sometimes is. They had several steps and bridges and he was so funny when he would go down the steps. He didn't walk down like normal. He would jump and land sitting on his backside for every step every time. He thought he was big stuff!
I need to get moving here. Ryker wanted to go home with mom and dad so it is just me and Cole. He's playing by himself so I need to make tracks!

The Shenanigans of Ryker
So for the past several days, Ryker has flown under the radar with his mischievousness and we haven't discovered what he has gotten into until probably hours later. The other day Matt asked me to keep Ryker away from his computer because the space bar was pulled off the laptop. It dawned on me what happened. I had been getting onto him all day for playing near the computer. I went to put Cole down for a nap and when I came back out, Matt's laptop was shut. I just figured Ryker went over there and shut the case. Apparently he pulled off the space bar and tried to hide his uh oh.
A few days later, I had to get onto him several times for playing with a pen that was lying with the paperwork Matt left spread out on the table. Later that night Matt asked me to keep the pens away from Ryker because he marked all over his notes. I came out and looked and sure enough, there was Ryker's beautiful artwork all over the paper. I was just glad he stayed on the paper!
Sunday morning Matt called me into the bathroom and Ryker had taken his step stool in there, found my concealer and proceeded to apply it to his face.
Cole reached a milestone today. He has gone 2 days in a row with taking a 2+hour nap. Today set a record for longest nap ever at 2 hrs and 45 minutes. YAY!!

God and George Washington
Ryker has figured out he can move his step stool around pretty much where ever he can't reach. Tonight it was to reach Matt's side of the dresser. There was a dollar bill lying there and he picked it up and started flipping it over and showing it to me. I asked him what he does with a dollar and he said God. I told him yes, you give your money to God at church on Sundays. Then he pointed to George Washington and said God. Apparently God has a face now :)
Cole is sitting up like a champ now. His newest trick is sitting up from lying down. It has been so helpful to me! He log rolls all over the floor and I think he'll take off crawling any day now but for him log rolling is sufficient. I think he is also finally getting the hang of no-no, don't touch. It didn't require a spank today when I told him that. He started crying though so apparently something is getting through even though he has seemed like he isn't a quick learner.
He definitely isn't a quick learner on the sleep thing. He's been banished to the pack n play again in our closet. Last night was night 2 and he did a lot better than the night before. I don't know why the child doesn't like sleep. He is taking three naps a day; the first and third are usually only 30 minutes. The middle nap I usually end up holding him because it is the only way to keep him asleep and quiet long enough for Ryker to get his nap and me to try and squeeze in a short one.
Matt is still working long hours often and I am trying to maintain a level of sanity. It is a very low, barely existing level but I'm trying. I usually try to go somewhere on the days I know he will be late so we're not stuck at home with each other all day especially since it is insanely too hot to do anything outside. I am so ready for cooler weather. No complaining about cold toilet seats for me this winter. I'm going to embrace them :)
Ryker is saying more words every day. Today he saw the giraffes on tv during the weather report and said, "giraffe" then he said "eat, eat, tree." He is starting to say simple sentences.
Well that's about all I remember for now and a little someone is crying for attention. He's always crying about something!

Baby Dolls and Golf Clubs
About a month ago we started going through Ma and Boss' garage and taking what we wanted and donating the rest. One of the things I came across was a baby doll. I cleaned her up and gave her to Ryker and he has been taking care of her ever since. Mostly he puts her in the swing and starts it up. Yesterday though he took it a step further. I was at the stove cooking and he came up to me with Cole's high chair tray. He had been trying to climb in it himself so I thought this was what he was doing again so I told him no. He started crying and I turned around and saw he had put Baby in the high chair. So I put the tray on and he went over to the counter where I keep the puffs and grunted for me to get them down. I poured Baby some puffs and went back to cooking. Ryker would come by every once in a while and help Baby eat her puffs. Once he had eaten them all, he wanted to take her out. He grabbed her out of the chair and I told him to burp Baby so he put her on his shoulder and started burping her. Then he went back over to the swing and put her to sleep.
Ryker also has a set of golf clubs that I got him several months ago. Lately I've been getting onto him because he holds one of the clubs over his head and slams it onto the ground. I'm afraid Cole is going to roll under it and get whacked. He was doing it again yesterday so I got onto him for it and then I got on the phone. Cole was rolling around all over the ground and managed to roll over to one of the golf clubs. He picked it up and was hitting it on the ground. Ryker noticed and went over and said "NO, NO," took it away and then spanked Cole. He's so smart!
Ryker has also learned how to make the smacking sound when he kisses. I point to a spot on my cheek and ask for a kiss and he'll lean over and smack one on me. He loves to kiss on Cole when Cole wakes up in the morning. I hope he stays sweet like that! :)
Cole's new favorite is puffs. I'll put him in his high chair, put the tray on and hold up the can of puffs. He recognizes it and gets so excited! He'll flap his arms and slap the tray. Once I start pouring them out, he can't get his hands on them fast enough. He'll grab a few and start shoving them in his mouth.
Cole is also doing much better at night. He's still sleeping in our closet but I'm hoping to move him back to his room soon. He generally wakes up around 3 but most nights he'll only cry about 5 minutes or so and go back to sleep and sleep until between 5 and 6. I can live with that! Ryker is such a light sleeper though. I fear those 5 minutes of crying will wake him up and then I'll still have to get up. That's why I hesitate to put Cole in his room now. I'm hoping after another week or so in the closet he'll eliminate the 3am cry.

Comprehension and Firsts
Ryker never ceases to amaze me. His comprehension skills are unbelievable. I can give him a complex command and he understands and responds. Lately in order to get him to eat what I need him to, I'll tell him he can have the food of his choice after he takes a bite of whatever it is he is giving me trouble with. He recognizes he will be rewarded with what he wants after he obeys. Today at lunch it was french fries versus nuggets. Tonight it was puffs versus peanut butter and jelly.
Cole has had quite a few firsts lately. He started crawling last week, well in his own way anyway. He puts his head on the floor and scoots forward. Today he started drinking from a sippy cup. He really impressed me because he instantly picked it up. The first time I put the sippy in his mouth, he started sucking on it. He wasn't too fond of the apple juice but he kept trying. I guess he thought maybe it would be a different flavor next time :) He has also started eating puffs. He's working on putting them in his mouth and I think a few do go in on accident but he'll have it soon I'm sure! He is also finally becoming a little more interested in sitting independently. We were able to take some pictures of him similar to what I had made of Ryker. We couldn't do them until he started sitting so it seemed like a long time coming.
I took the kids to see Cars 2 today. Ryker liked the Pixar short film of Toy Story better than the movie. I can't say I blame him. The movie was just ok. He actually got upset when the Toy Story short ended. Then he fell asleep during Cars. Oh well. He was really into Rio when I took them to that but I wasn't able to stay the whole time. My lap wasn't big enough :) Cole watched most of Cars and was very good.

The Fridge
Time always seems to get away. I think of things I want to post about but I don't usually have time at that moment to stop and write them down. We sent Ryker to Grandma's so I could sleep train Cole. I don't know if he made progress or not because it seemed like he was starting to show a consistent pattern with his sleep and then he'll have a couple of bad nights in a row, like last night.
Saturday we were going to go somewhere so I started getting the diaper bag ready. Ryker wanted his sippy so I gave it to him. When it was time to leave I couldn't find it so I asked Matt to help me look for it. We looked around the living room and didn't see it and Matt asked me if I checked the fridge. I said no, I gave it to Ryker. He said Ryker's fridge. Lo and behold my super genius put his sippy in his play kitchen fridge.
While we were at mom's Cole decided he is going to start crawling. He gets frustrated easily but he definitely scoots forward. He is going to be crawling before he sits independently! I try to work with him on that but he wants to stand more than he wants to sit by himself. He'll get it eventually I guess!
Ryker's vocabulary grows all the time. Last night at church he had a Bible and was saying Bible. I was so proud of him and hated I had to tell him to be quiet. He also wore a belt for the first time so he was fascinated with that. When I told him to be quiet from saying Bible he moved on and started saying belt.
Love those boys!

Lots to Update!
Almost two weeks ago now we took the kids to the zoo. The first Tuesday of the month after 2pm is free. Matt took a 1/2 day and we went before it gets too hot and school lets out. We had a cool front come through and it was a perfect 76 outside. Cole slept off and on all afternoon and was perfect! Ryker was full of energy and had so much fun! It was so much fun for me to experience it from Ryker's point of view. Of course the day wouldn't be complete without him trying to hug the other kids there :)
At the end of that same week, Pioneer Woman was at a local bookshop signing her newly released children's book. Amber found out about it and we ordered the book and got our tickets. We also made the kids shirts. Cole's was a black onesie that I ironed on I heart P-Dub on. Ryker's was a black shirt that said Kiss the Cook. I also made him a chef's hat with his name on it but he woke up starting to feel sick. I was lucky that he was relatively in a good mood by the time we went to the book signing. Getting him to wear the hat was out of the question. We did manage to get a good group picture. PW LOVED Cole!! She wanted to take him home with her. He flirted and smiled like crazy :)
Ryker also started a new trick. He now signs Thank You. He will do it without being prompted but he isn't doing it every time you give him something yet. We're still working on that. Both the boys are such sweethearts and it warms my heart daily to get hugs from Ryker spontaneously and humongous smiles from curly-lashed Cole. I love those boys!
As part of my Mother's Day present, I requested a play kitchen for Ryker. It came in this past week and I put it together last night. Ryker loves it! He cracks me up because the oven and microwave have stickered buttons on it. He'll put something in either one and pretend to press the buttons. So far the living room appears MUCH cleaner because I have been able to put up and keep most of my kitchen wares in the kitchen. That was one of my goals of getting the kitchen. That and the fact that I love watching him do something that brings him such joy.
I'm curious to see what this new week holds in store!

W is for Walker
I've been putting Cole in the walker because he wants to be upright and that way I don't have to hold him all the time. I put him in the kitchen a couple of times while I was in there but yesterday was his breakthrough day. He went from one end of the kitchen to the other and even turned a corner. He still won't sit unassisted. He doesn't even seem interested in trying. He'll do it in his own time I guess.
We're going to the zoo today. I am so excited! We haven't taken Ryker before and I know he's going to love it. We had a cool front come through overnight and it is currently 57 outside which is really unusual for May but typical for a day I plan something outside with the kids!

Blue
Ryker blew my mind with blue today! I bought him a book of colors the other day because I wanted to start working with him. We went through the book a couple of times yesterday and he kept going back to the blue page. I finally got him to say the word blue and I thought that was pretty impressive. Later in the day, I called mom to tell her and try to get him to say blue to her. When I asked him he got up, went over to his toolbox toy and slapped the blue peg down and looked at me. I couldn't believe it! I wasn't trying to get him to recognize it anywhere other than the book. I know it wasn't a fluke because I've gotten him to do it several times since then. The kid's a genius! :)

Hi-Yah!
The kids stayed with mom and dad for a few days (Ryker a few more than Cole; more on that later). While Ryker was there, he learned how to become the Karate Kid with Uncle Kory. Today we were in his room and I was hanging up clothes. Ryker was walking around with one leg in the air saying hi-yah! Then later while I was feeding Cole, he was making Cole kick him while he said hi-yah. He is so funny!
Cole came home early because all he did was scream while he was there. He holds his breath when he screams and sometimes would turn blue before we were able to make him catch his breath. I hope he grows out of that soon!
Ryker also started putting his hands on his hips while he was at Grandma's. I can't imagine where he got that from :) I picked him up yesterday and he was at the garage with mom and I was loading up everything in the car. When I started walking towards them, he was making motion for me to leave. And boy did he cry when we did leave! He wanted to stay at Grandma's :(
The day I dropped the kids off, we were all sitting on the back porch and I asked Ryker if he wanted to go home with me or stay at Grandma's. He came over to me, pushed me out of the chair and climbed in. Then he started waving bye. I guess I got my answer!
New words this past week: go, Cole
Now for some old business :)
For a while now, when Matt is home for dinner, we all sit at the table to eat. Whenever we're done, we read a chapter or so from the Bible. Ryker knows the routine. When HE is done eating, he asks to get down and stands in front of the cabinet where the Bibles are until I pick him up for him to get out the Bible. He sometimes grunts when Matt is finished reading so he'll read more.
We have also been having him put a dollar in the collection plate. Don't give him his dollar too early because he is ready to put it in as soon as you hand him the dollar. I'm so proud of him when he drops the money in the plate. I imagine it makes God smile too. That thought warms my heart :)

Pretty Flowers
This is potentially going to be long because I thought of a few other things that aren't necessarily current but something I want to remember :)
We'll start with current first:
Cole rolled over this morning! He got up super early and never went back to sleep. When Matt left for work, I hoped he would fall back to sleep if he was in bed with me, so we moved from the couch to the bed. He was talking and cooing and turned to his side. I scooted over to give him more room to see what he would do and lo and behold he rolled over! He tried to continue a log roll but couldn't make it from tummy to back. I'm sure that won't be long!
While Cole napped in the swing, Ryker and I were outside. I was sitting at the picnic table and Ryker was off playing. I had my head in my lap because I was tired and usually Ryker comes over and thinks I'm playing peep-eye. Today he stood beside me and grunted. When I looked up, he handed me a flower. It made my day! Then when he saw my reaction, he went and picked the rest of the flowers he could find. I put one behind my ear so he spent the rest of his time trying to put them in my hair. He's a sweet boy!
Yesterday we put out bird seed in the feeder. Ryker has really enjoyed watching the birds. Every once in a while a few would come feed while we were outside. If he noticed, he'd go towards them and of course they'd fly away. He'd have this look on his face like, I just want to be your friend! Yeah right. Those birds are smarter than that :)
Two old tricks that Ryker does is You're So Smart and Where's God? Mom taught him the smart trick. Whenever you tell him or say that he's smart, he puts both pointer fingers to the sides of his head. It's hilarious, until he goes to school and does it. When you ask him where God is, he'll point up. It warms my heart to see that!

Things I Want to Remember
I've thought of a couple of things I haven't written down but I want to remember. As far as today goes, Ryker sang "Super Why" with the theme song this morning. It amazes me every day how many new things he is doing. We drove all over creation today looking for another crib. I didn't want to but we decided it was probably the best option. I really thought Ryker would be ready for his big boy bed by now but he is scared of it and Cole needs to be in a bed. They were both so good as always. When we got home I decided to go ahead and put the crib together. I had a helper to say the least. He enjoyed it so much. Cole watched from his bumbo. It took twice as long but it made Ryker happy!
I also got him a potty today. He is so proud of it although he hasn't actually gone in it yet. Every time I go to the bathroom he has to sit on his potty too. He thinks he's such a big boy. I can't wait to see the surprise on his face when he actually does go. He also likes to take the removable seat out. I fear the day he does go potty and brings me the seat.
The last three days when I've put shoes on him, he has checked to see where his toes are. He remembers it from mom and me doing that when we were at the shoe store the other day.
Another world he has been saying is ice. Whenever he hears the ice dump he lets me know. Nothing gets past that boy!
Naturally all the things I thought of are escaping me. I'm sure I'll remember more tomorrow; I just hope I'm near a computer and able to jot them down.

LOL - Literally!
Last night between bible class and church Cole was sitting in my lap and he started cracking up! It was the first time he had a good belly laugh. It was contagious!
I also realized I never said how Ryker cheated death the other two times. I blame it on lack of time/thought continuity due to numerous interruptions :)
The second time happened later that afternoon with me. I had been getting onto him all day for standing on the couch. I told him I was going to put Cole in his swing so I could get him something to eat. When I turned around from starting the swing, Ryker was going backwards off the arm of the couch. He didn't cry until I spanked him. He knocked over my plant. I really feel sorry for this plant. It has lost so much soil in its life; I'm amazed it is still alive!
The third time was when Matt was home. We were sitting on the couch eating dinner and Ryker went for Matt's ice water. He got it, took a drink and the ice came rushing at him so too much water went in at once. So after a few beats on the back he calmed down and caught his breath.
I had to make a Target run and I was going to leave Cole with Matt. I usually take Ryker with me because he loves to go anywhere but I almost was afraid to; I thought he might bring us bad luck or something :)
I've been trying a new bedtime routine. Ryker still has major separation anxiety when I leave the room so I got his best friend Rat out of the car and had him sleep with him. It went better than it usually does. Hopefully that wasn't a fluke; guess I'll find out tonight!

Manic Monday
Ryker decided to cheat death three times yesterday. He started out bright and early on this conquest. He was in bed with Matt b/c he woke up well before his usual time and I was feeding Cole. I knew he was still awake b/c I could hear him talking and playing. I doubted that Matt was awake b/c he can sleep through anything. All of a sudden I hear a WHACK and then him crying. I ran in there and turned on the light and picked him up and he immediately had a 1 inch in diameter goose egg on his forehead. We came in the kitchen to put ice on it and within 5 minutes it had doubled in size. We both agreed we should probably get him looked at.
I went in the bedroom to get dressed and I was almost done when Matt came running in with Ryker. I thought he had gotten worse or something but Matt says, "I'm fixing to throw up." And no, not from food poisoning or illness, but from the knot on Ryker's head. I take Ryker and we come back to the living room to load up Cole. We can hear Matt in the bathroom dry heaving and Ryker thinks it is HILARIOUS. He is cracking up and mimicking the noise. I have the diaper bag and kids ready and Matt is still in there. I thought I was going to have to leave him here. He finally pulled it together and sat in the back to keep Ryker awake while I drove b/c with something like this, NASCAR needs to drive :) Uncle Kory would be proud!
We went to the new hospital behind our house and nobody was there. They took us straight back to a room. Other than the huge goose egg, Ryker was fine. They told us unless the injury is on the side or back of the head they don't need to be seen unless they pass out or start throwing up. I gave him Tylenol and he never seemed to be bothered by it.
Something Ryker started doing for the first time yesterday is say "ice" when it dumps. I have always told him that b/c he looks at me every time. Now he tells me what is going on!
Cole also had a first yesterday. I started putting rice cereal in his bottles in hopes that he would start eating and sleeping better. If yesterday was any indication, we're on the road to success! He went 3 or more hours between each feeding and I only got up once with him last night. That sure does beat the every 2 hours he was doing! He seems happier and didn't throw up once yesterday. Maybe between that and the Prevacid he'll become a happy baby. He's in his bouncer now staring at me and kicking his legs. Uh oh. And getting fussy.

It's the Simple Things
Well I have succumbed to the blog. I wasn't doing as well a job as I would like on handwriting everything the boys do and this is definitely a more expedient way to keep track of everything they do.
Today we went to Target. Simple, I know but Ryker loves it so much! It never fails; whenever I tell him we are going bye-bye he heads to where the keys hang and grunts. Then he runs to the laundry room door and waits, most of the time impatiently, for us to leave. I strap him in and he waits for me to give him his sippy and he keeps it beside his leg.
Going to the store has become more challenging. Ryker loves to sit in the basket and tell everyone "hi." If I put Cole's car seat there he will either have to sit inside the basket (I don't know if I trust him) or walk (um, no!). Sometimes I take the double stroller in if I don't need much. Today I put Cole's car seat inside the basket and let Ryker ride like he usually does.
Afterwards I went to Sonic to get a vanilla Dr. Pepper. Ryker can recognize where he usually gets fries from and grunts. I got him fries and he was one happy guy on the way home! Most of the time Cole doesn't even know we left home. Today he was a little grumpy. He isn't the ideal shopping buddy yet :)
Today was pretty low-key. We just try to find Cole's happy place because he's fussy a lot and Ryker is learning patience. He wanted to help me mop today. I love the help!
Yesterday I noticed Ryker's bottom right lateral and left bottom 2 year molar has broken through. He also can't fit his size 6 shoes anymore. Guess we're going shoe shopping!
